Which airport did you land at?
Mexico City has two international airports on opposite sides of the metropolitan area. Before choosing your transportation, confirm the airport code on your ticket.
Benito Juárez International Airport — AICM
MEX
Located inside Mexico City, around 13 km from the Historic Center and usually 20–40 minutes by car from Polanco, Condesa and Roma. Most international flights arrive here.

NLU
Located north of the city, in the State of Mexico. Travel time into central Mexico City can range from 50 minutes to 2 hours depending on traffic and transport choice.

Terminal Aérea station connects to Terminal 1.

Do not take street taxis outside the terminal.
Metrobús Line 4
Direct route
Connects the airport with downtown Mexico City.
Boarding areas: Terminal 1 Gate 7 and Terminal 2 Gate 2.
Requires a Metrobús smart card.
From AIFA / NLU
Felipe Ángeles International Airport is farther from central Mexico City. For most travelers, the train is now the fastest and most affordable option.

Uber / DiDi
Direct
Available directly from AIFA, but usually more expensive and slower than the train during traffic hours.
Estimated cost to ULIV areas: $400–600 MXN.
Estimated time: 45–90 minutes
without traffic · up to 2 hours
during peak hours.
Best if you have large luggage, arrive late or prefer door-to-door service.
First things to know after landing
Payments
Cards are widely accepted, but carry some cash for markets, small shops and tips.
Connectivity
Consider an eSIM before arriving. You can also buy a local SIM at the airport or convenience stores.
Tap water
Avoid drinking tap water. Use bottled or filtered water during your stay.
Tipping
At restaurants, 10–15% is customary depending on the service.
